  Thoughts From the Youth Guy:

  What Kind of a friend are you?   Are you the type of friend that helps breathe life and hope into another person’s life or are you the huge shop vac that sucks the life from people and leaves them frustrated, empty and drained?  In 1 Samuel 18 we find a rather unique relationship of two souls being knit together and a covenantal bond being formed between Jonathan and David.  When Jonathan handed David his robe and weapons this signified Jonathans commitment to David even to the point of recognizing him as the next king.  It also appears God used Jonathan and his friendship to David to help spur on the early successes of Israel’s future king.  So what kind of friend are you?  Do you help the friends around you achieve success or are you the only one who gets anything out of the friendship?
